Whether you have to file a Canadian tax return and the type of income you must report depends on your residency status in Canada. It is your responsibility to assess your own tax obligations every year.

If you need an estimate of your tuition and living costs during your studies at VIU, please visit our cost calculator. If you require this information on letterhead, feel free to visit our Letter Request webpage to request a banking letter. Our staff will be happy to prepare a letter for you for a $20 fee. The letter will be emailed as a PDF within 5 business days. You may download, save and print the letter for your use.
